Moonlight Poster Research

This is a very artistic film poster which I think works well and gives an indication to what the film is like. The glowing slim font stands out against the photo but because of the harmonious calming colours the viewers eye is drawn to the image first. I like how the writing is minimalistic but this means that all the relevant information might not be included and what is included may be hard to read as the font is quite small and all at the bottom.

As it is artistic it almost doesn't look like a film poster but does look like a theatre play instead which could cause confusion amongst viewers. The one line at the top is written a small, slim font which is good for the synergy but is difficult to see or read. All of the writing at the bottom is just actors, directors and producers names when there could be reviews from niche audiences. 'Coming Soon' is written very small at the bottom of the poster which is irritating because the date is not obvious to the viewer.

The characters face is very serious and unhappy which connotes that the film is of a documentary or drama genre about a true story. Not much information about the film is given which makes it mysterious, allowing viewers to be fascinated about the narrative. His face is very prominent and clear to viewers which creates an emotional response. Also, it is interesting how there is a triangular shape down the centre of his face where we can actually realise that on the right hand side is a different persons face altogether as he has a beard and a type of hat on.
